Severe Flooding in Malawi
Jesus said, “...where your treasure is, there will your heart be, also."
Matthew 6:21
Recent tropical flooding in Malawi leaves 83,000 homeless.
Since January 22, tropical storms have battered East Africa with with rain, causing torrential flooding as rivers have swollen with both rain and tidal flooding. International relief agencies estimate that almost 800,000 people have been impacted and 83,000 have been displaced from their homes.
Most of the displaced are living in makeshift camps, where they are subject to water-borne disease and exposure.
We are grateful to report that Paster Stephen and his family are safe, but the situation in his area is dire. He is working diligently to see that those in his care have enough to eat, since the flooding has wiped out crops and gardens, just as harvest season approaches.
The need is great and immediate. Please consider giving a gift that will go directly to Pastor Stephen and his work.
